The publication “Suriname basic indicators” contains social, economic, financial and monetary indicators, including monthly and quarterly figures. The economic indicators are predominantly from the General Bureau of Statistics.

Basic indicators come in the following main categories:
1. Economic indicators
2. Financial indicators
3. Monetary indicators
4. Social indicators

The data is collected from the Consumer Price Index department and other sources on the basis of the basket of goods and services resulting from the 2007/2008 household budget survey. From April 2016, the consumer price index has been compiled using the results of the 2013/2014 household budget survey.
ABS receives its data on gross salaries paid from Suriname’s CEBUMA : Central Bureau for Electronic Administration (Cebuma). The data on child benefit and general old-age provision come from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing.
