The GBS made every effort to collect as much as possible Gender based data. The latest publication was published in December 2019.
In all cases we tried to collect as much as possible recent data. Various institutions were approached to provide data. Not in all cases GBS succeeded in its endeavor because of different reasons. Sometimes the data were completely absent. Sometimes data was available but was not broken down by sex and it could happen that the waiting time for the requested data was too long. The GBS has tried as much as possible to present in this publication everything that was available and of acceptable quality. The tables included in this publication can be arranged by the following main topics:
1. Education
2. Population
3. Health
4. Labour, Employment and Unemployment
5. Crime
6. Public Governance
7. Social Protection
8. Miscellaneous
To those who have gone through this publication it must be clear that there is still a large request for statistics about Women and Men that is not satisfied. The GBS tries where and as much as possible, to compile and present all statistics as such but is often dependent on several external institutions and other organizations. We therefore again make an appeal to these institutions and organizations to break down data as much as possible by sex. It will take a while before we are so far that we can present all possible statistics based on gender but we try to make a contribution.
It is clear that as a society, we also strive to eliminate gender disparities, but before we are able to do so we must indicate quantitatively where and how these disparities occur. This publication is a modest contribution and as Bureau we shall very much appreciate it if institutions, other organizations and all others cooperate and support us with the necessary required Gender Data. Also, institutions and other organizations out there, who have data and information which can be regarded as gender data at their disposal may contact the GBS and together we can go through the data to see whether the data is of acceptable quality to be included in this type of publication.
